Everything seemed to be going smoothly for Captain James T. Kirk of the SS Enterprise, that is until something familiar yet completely foreign came into their sights.
"Sulu! What is that?" the captain asked moving towards the edge of his seat.
"It appears to be another Starship sir!" Sulu said going back to his controls.
"They're trying to make contact! I'll patch it through!" Uhura pressed buttons at a speed that impressed even Spock. The voice that came through on the other end was completely unexpected.
"This is Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise," His voice was powerful yet kind, and English to boot.
"Facinating," Spock quietly muttered.
"Glad to know you aren't hostile but surely you have the name of your ship wrong, we're the Enterprise," Kirk replied.
"Jim? That's impossible, you blew up the enterprise!" Picard said astounded.
"I what?!" Kirk replied his voice cracking a bit.
"I could see that," Spock muttered to himself.
"Ah, we must be in some sort of paradox, allowing past and present to meet,"
Spock nodded his head and finally spoke loud enough for everyone to hear:
"That is quite possible and is the only logical explaination Jim."
"Captain Picard," Kirk said after mulling the idea over.
"Yes Captain Kirk?" came the slightly amused reply
"Welcome aboard!"
