Erik almost found it cute that these people thought he’d break, that somehow their threats and their sad attempts to beat him would do a single thing. Magnus was his father and for once he seemed to be trying to do good that didn’t involve harming humanity and, even if he was, he wouldn’t give him up. Not to these people. Instead he held his head high with a defiant look in his sightless eyes. He dared them to break him, dared them to push him over the edge. Either way they’d lose. He snapped he’d level the place, he didn’t they’d end up killing him destroying any chance of finding Magnus.

They probably wouldn’t even be able to use him as leverage. While alive Magnus probably would expect him to free himself and dead might come steal his body but otherwise he’d probably leave him. They were at least on good terms now, Magnus now called him by name, he’d been able to talk with him about his past, they’d come to a mutual understanding. That being said the “familial” bond was only one sided: Erik saw him as a father but Magnus seemed to still find him to be a mistake. He never should have been, and he could understand it. He’d never wanted to be used as a lab rat ever again, willingly or otherwise. His DNA had been stolen, his position exploited, and now he had another disappointment on his hands. But Erik would remain strong, it was in his blood, he’d gotten it from Magnus and he wouldn’t bow down. This was likely the only thing Magnus would be proud of and honestly he could live with that.

Over on Tumblr the relationship between Erik and the various Magnetos that have decided to tolerate him as a son is extremely interesting and one I love to explore.
